President-Elect Obama

It's been a wonderful, scary, exhausting, unbelievable ride. I can't right now begin to say what this means to me. Monica and I went to vote at 6am and joined a long line of neighbors at the local school. Everyone on the street was cheery and smiling and many like me took pictures of their ballot. Something was so different about today.
My father 79, said he was so excited thinking about voting he couldn't sleep. He and my mother never missed voting and I know he missed her especially today. My sister called and said he told her of Black people in Alabama who were fired from their jobs for voting. This morning he dressed up in a suit and tie and walked the few blocks to vote for Barack Obama who will now be the 44th President of the United States.

Jackie, I thought I was the only one who took pictures of my ballot. Cool to know that you do that too. Like your father, I too dressed up to go vote.

I am sorry Annt JoJo didn't see this historical day. She would have been very proud of America.

A very emotional night...I lost it when I saw Jesse Jackson with tears in his eyes...probably thinking of the times spent in the civl rights struggle, and the words of Dr. King in his soul...now this! WOW!! President Obama has a nice sound! Now the work begins..............
